Professional Automotive Upholstery Technician

We are looking to hire a skilled upholsterer to make and repair upholstery for our automotive clients. In this role, you will be responsible for meeting with the client, selecting the appropriate materials for the job, and installing the upholstery to meet the desired specifications. To ensure success as a True Colours upholsterer, you should have in-depth knowledge of modern and vintage upholstery techniques, a good eye for detail, business mindset, and the ability to visualize design ideas. Upholsterer Responsibilities:

• Manage all upholstery projects with the clients from sale to completion.
• Interpreting design orders and creating upholstery projects.
• Selecting and sourcing upholstery materials.
• Dismantling vehicles for upholstery preparation.
• Working with fabrics, leather, vinyl, foam, batting, and springs.
• Designing and implementing custom car interiors.
• Conducting quality checks on completed orders.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of experience as an upholsterer with portfolio and references.
• Excellent design skills and ability to draw and interpret design templates.
• Detail-oriented.
• Knowledge of upholstery tools including hot knives, nail guns, and sewing equipment.
• Ability to lift, pull, stand, kneel and manipulate heavy objects up to eight hours a day.
