PICKING UP THE VW
In March I drove it from from Calgary back to our shop outside of Saskatoon. I just about froze to death on that trip as the van didn't have a heater.
Taking it down to the bones for restoration.
Old paint and rust be gone!
MEASLES STAGE
Now we are getting somewhere. Except now she looks like she has a very strange case of the measles.
PAINTING, POLISHING, BUFFING, AND BLING
Now we're getting fancy. What a nice smile! Added some bling with the chrome details in case this van is not noticeable enough already.
PAINTING
The interior got a paint job too. The old wood paneling and tatty painted metal is now looking fresh and bright. Doesn't this colour remind you of toothpaste?
The tail view is looking pretty sweet too! And there it goes, with my little sistah, Becca, behind the wheel, and friend Malcolm, riding shotgun. She's heading back to Calgary and will surely dazzle the VW fans out there.
Our True Colours Restorations team did a full makeover on this 1972 VW Kombi. We started in April and finished by the end of May in 2016.
